Does it cost me anything to register?
Absolutely not, our service to you is free. The interview gives us a great opportunity
to discuss with you the different opportunities that are available to you, and to
give you an idea as to rates of pay etc. The interview also gives us the chance
to understand what type of work you are interested in.
-
How am I paid?
We pay by the hour, so you would receive your hourly rate x by the hours worked.
Unless we agreed differently, we would make the statutory deductions for tax and
national insurance from your earnings.
-
How often do I get paid?
You will be paid weekly in arrears, and this will always be paid into your own UK
bank account.
-
Can I be flexible on the times that I want work?
Yes, we have a mixture of clients and drivers who are all looking for different
shifts to be worked. Therefore, whether it is days, nights, weekends or just odd
shifts, there is a good chance we can help. We have drivers who regularly work 5/6
days per week for us at the same client, and we also have drivers who work at a
variety of different clients every week and who do a number of shifts to suit their
needs. The choice will always be yours.
-
What information will I get from you before I get an assignment?
At the point of us offering you an assignment we will provide you with the following
details:
- Client name, address, start time and who you report to.
- Type of work – Class 1, Class 2 etc.
- Rate of pay including overtime rates.
- We will also tell you as much information about the assignment as possible – destination,
number of drops etc.
-
Do I have to accept all assignments that are offered to me?
No. We should only be offering you the type of work that you have indicated that
you are looking for, on the days you have indicated you want to work. So if we offer
you something different then you do not have to accept. However, If you constantly
refuse work that was being offered, we would need to understand why.
-
Do I receive holiday pay?
Absolutely yes. All Blue Arrow flexible employees accrue holiday pay in addition
to their hourly rate. At anytime you can speak to your local office and they will
let you know how many days you have accrued.
-
Are there any other benefits associated with working for Blue Arrow?

such as stakeholder pension schemes.
